A beautiful day to swing

And so that's what we did. We put Isaac's swing up and he loved it! I think he sat in it for at least 30 minutes. Nana and I took turns pushing Grace- hoping that soon she will learn to pump her legs. It was a fun afternoon.

Bathtime-

At 5 months old little Isaac is sitting up. So, into the big bathtub he goes! He had physically outgrown his baby tub about 2 months ago and giving him a bath was getting increasingly more difficult. Grace was not too welcoming the first time he was in "her" bathtub; but by the second night she had warmed up to the idea and was excited to have a playmate. She is pretty wild in the tub so we are trying to get her to tone it down while at the same time explaining to Isaac that this is life with big sister Grace!

Last Saturday night Sid and I had our first official date night since Isaac was born...he is 5 months old. I don't recommend this, but when you have no family in town and a baby who has been sick more than half of his life this sometimes happens. Anyway, we couldn't have had more fun. We went to the Keith Urban/Carrie Underwood concert with our close friends Betsy and Paul. It was a blast. Sid and I had floor tickets right next to the catwalk and second stage. It was amazing seeing everyone upclose. Sid and Paul took on the challenge of getting Betsy and Paul down on the floor with us. Because they are both successful salesmen it only took a few minutes to schmooze/tip one of the ushers.

Toes, tongues, and Crocs

We have been enjoying our spring weather and have just been hanging around the house this past week. Grace is now playing with the 4 and 5 year old little girls in the neighborhood and I am not so sure how ready I am for this. She has a huge crush on the 9 year old boy who lives 2 houses up. I can't blame her, he is very cute and his sister is the 4 year old, so needless to say- Grace always wants to go up to Elizabeth's house. Oh, I remember those days of being little and having a crush on the older boy up the street. Sid is already concerned. Isaac is starting to sit-up and do all sorts of funny things. He loves chewing on his toes and sticking out his tongue and blowing. Both activities provide endless entertainment at all hours of the day and night. He has another virus right now. Who knows what this one will become. He has the croup cough and a fever. I am just praying for strength to get through one day at a time. I hate for my baby to be sick again. It could be so much worse and so I am thankful for his overall good health. Isaac did have his first official playdate with Hampton. Hampton is one month older and bigger!!! than Isaac. She is just precious. Her daddy used to work with Sid and Hampton's mom stays home with her and lives just a couple miles away. Isaac and Hampton hit it off immediately as you can see by the hand-holding. So precious. Finally, I broke down and bought Isaac some Crocs. Are you kidding me!? They are so freakin' adorable. The lady at Dillards and I busted out laughing when we put them on him. He is a girl magnet. Grace got princesses for her Crocs and she loves them. They are good bribing material for me. :-)

Grandma and Bryce Came for a Visit

My mom and her grandson Bryce flew in on Friday evening for a visit. Bryce and Grace had a blast playing with each. Grandma, of course, couldn't put the baby down. Sid and I were sleep deprived, but glad to have the company. Isaac is doing better. He is still getting his breathing treatments (tomorrow should be his last one), so his sleep is still off...hence the sleep deprived parents. I take him back to the ped tomorrow and am hoping that he earns a clean bill of health. Anyway, we had a big weekend. On Saturday Sid took Bryce and Grace to Home Depot for the Kid's Workshop Day and then to Milton's for lunch. On Sunday we headed to the mall and the kids strapped in to do some high-flying trampoline jumping. It took them both a few minutes to get comfortable, but then they didn't want to get off. On Monday we headed to Marbles where both kids had a blast playing and getting out lots of energy... it pretty much rained the entire weekend. Grandma and Bryce flew out Monday afternoon. We were sorry to see them go so soon. :-( Grandma with her grandkids.

Three generations-
This splash pool is Grace's favorite thing at Marbles. She was so drenched I even had to change her panties...so yes, I did bring a complete change of clothes for her. Isaac like playing in the water too. I hope there was plenty of chlorine.
On a cold and rainy Saturday afternoon we broke out the paints and painted some big rocks that Sid found in the yard and some rock houses (egg cartons).

A Morning at the NC Museum of Life & Science

Our schools were on Spring Break this week so Grace's preschool was closed too. I was prepared though. Myself and several others planned a week full of activities for our toddlers and babies...and then God opened up the skies and it rained all week. Thankful for the rain, but a damper for our plans. We did have one nice, warm morning and a few of us headed out to the outdoor museum- it's kind of a mini zoo. The kids had a great time and us moms enjoyed the fellowship and watching the little ones discover new things. The day was bittersweet, however. I had taken Isaac to the doc on Monday b/c his breathing was rapid. I had to take him back on Wed as he was getting worse. Long story short he has bronchialitlis (RSV) again and this time it is a bad case. Poor little guy has been on breathing treatments every 3-4 hours and a steroid since Wed afternoon. His meds make him jittery and spastic making napping and sleeping difficult for a baby who was already having problems with those things due to coughing and wheezing. I got to lower his meds today, so he took a good nap for the first time this week and seems to be a little better. He is still wheezing so I am hoping that will go away soon and that the long-term effect of asthma will be something we never have to worry about. So anyway, we have been inside most of the week and Grace has been wonderful all things considered.

They Really Do Love Each Other

I had to post these pictures as proof that my children, at least at some point in their lives, love each other and enjoy playing with the other. Isaac, even at four months old, is extremely interactive. On top of that, no one lights up his face like Grace. He adores her and will strain his neck in any direction to see her. She is sweet on him too. If he is fussing she will go up to him and rub his head and say, "I'm right here, Baby Isaac, I'm right here." Their favorite game is the rollover game. Isaac will rollover to his belly and Grace rolls him onto his back. He loves this and will continue to roll onto his belly over and over again, just to have Grace roll him back. Sometimes she gets a little carried away, so this is a game that must be monitored. Sunday morning they had their first wrastlin' match.

I think Isaac actually has the upper hand in this one...the eye gouge.

Trying not to look suspicious.Grace and Isaac both had to go to the doctor yesterday. This put Grace in super doctor mode. Apparently Isaac needed to be treated twice.Notice the band aids on Isaac's ankle and thumb. Dr. Grace never misses a booboo.
