Halloween

For Halloween this year we spent the early afternoon at the North Carolin Museum of Natural History where they have lots of snakes and other creepy creatures available to hold as well as lots of crafts, snacks, and activities for the kiddos. As you can see Grace had her face painted and it worked out perfectly for her 'Bat Girl' costume that she wore to trick-or-treat in later that day. Isaac had a turtle tattooed on his leg. No face paint for him-absolutely no way. We then went home for naps and then up and ready for the parade around our neighborhood.
This is just a fraction of the trick-or-treaters. Front and center is Grace, to her left is Pierce, his family came over for the festivities, on the other side of Grace is our neighbor Elizabeth (witch) and then our other neighbor Lauren (fairy). Poor little Isaac is sitting on the ground behind Grace. I had him sit down because he was in the front and that was the only way to keep him still, but as luck would have it, this is the one time he followed directions and the big kids stepped right in front of him. He was so fascinated by all the costumes that he just sat and stared. Anyway, after the parade we all went to a neighbor's house and had a huge BBQ and played games. Then the trick-or-treating began. Isaac didn't want to TorT so he went home with me and had the time of his life handing out candy. I've never heard him talk so much in my life. He was just so excited. I heard about 20 new vocab words. He would see the kids coming down our street and start yelling "Ome a my ouse!" translated to "Come to my house!" Sid said Grace, Lauren and Elizabeth were doing wind-sprints going house to house. She had so much candy that it was truly unreal. Since it was daylight savings that night and the kids schedules were going to be messed up anyway, we let them stay up and enjoy the evening... it was 75 degrees after all.
